Students also put their first aid skills to use by attending to
minor wounds of the Cambodian children as well as their own peers.

Children Centre in Kampong Thom, it was the local children
who left a lasting impression. “It’s not as etched in our
hearts as mingling with the Cambodian children,” shares

In the two weeks, they experienced rural life, helping
out at two children’s centres by educating the children on
basic hygiene and dental care on top of teaching them English,
Chinese and mathematics. They also helped to remove
head lice from the children’s hair with treatment shampoo.
Ser ve Cambodia 2008 is organised annually by BA CARES,
a BA community outreach committee. During these trips,
students are encouraged to be committed members of society.
Lum Feng Lim, 18, a secondyear Business Studies student,
was so touched by the gentle and gracious nature of the
Cambodians that she, together with the rest of the student
volunteers, hopes to take a trip back there again to meet their very
much missed Cambodian friends and engage in more volunteer work for the communities."

I've heard from the cambodians that the letter has reached the point of destination! Thank God it did not get lost.
So do not worry, a 60cents letter will still be sent faithfully by the mailman. just that there is a higher risk that it would get lost. I think it only took 4 weeks to arrive so you guys can start sending the letters.
And also, they can use the computer every saturday and sunday. So do email them!

Hi everyone,

In case you are not aware yet, Happy Hour (recruitment drive for serve trips 2009) falls on 10th November, this coming monday! The entire event will last from 5pm-630pm. Dress code would be 'i survived in cambodia' t-shirt(any color is fine) and jeans.

We will be showcasing a short video clip that sums up our entire service trip. After that we'll be performing the song "you're my sunshine". We are intending to do sth like what the kids in solid rock performed for us, just that we are using construction paper instead of fluorescent light and gloves! Hahaha.

What we need to do now is
- memorise the entire song
- MEET UP and rehearse a couple of times tgt with ACTIONS AND PROPS

Letter 65 cents if not wrong.. As for time to reach there, will take bout i dunno a few weeks? i oso not sure though..

If you want to send photos along, you have to send in a package which will be easier.. but cost about $12.15 if not wrong.. then this is whether you want to track it. if you want to track it, you have to pay addition $2.2o.. if you do not wan, then it is jus a payment of $12.15.. yup=)

I just spend like $15.70 to send them the package.. =/ of cuz the package will be determine by weight mainly.. mine is about 400g.. so yup=) mine is so ex is due to the fact, i buy the envelope oso which cost $1.35. ex man... =((

Well, it has been more than a week since we've left cambodia.

as i do not know how to use the photobucket,
i have decided to resize the photos and post them here!
this whole process took me approximately 2 hours.

poor yilin was sick with flu on the first day...

kathryn was showing us all the precious camp supplies in her luggage.

we were all very happy and glad that there are bananas, including paul!

its now time for listening after a full meal.

chih ching had the 'easiest duty' as she had to wash almost every utencils in the kitchen.

night cycling! its my first time! 'so proud of myself!'

as the few of us were fretting over the selection of timetable, the others were taking a break enjoying theirselves.

at the end of the day,

all we have to do was to talk to dear diary and...

Paul's Photos of Bonding Camp

Hi folks

I really enjoyed myself during Bonding Camp. I'm not sure what Polar Bear was all about and I don't want to know how some enterprising ladies appear to have managed a body-art creation exercise inside a smelly gentlemen's sleeping quarters in the early morning, but I thought that Valerie, Stephanie and the rest of the Bonding Camp team did a great job of organising the event. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the night cycling, the open shower (!!!), and even, in a funny kind of way, the smelly men's dorm. Of course I appreciate home sweet home, but camp had its moments!

Bonding Camp

Here is the packing list for the bonding camp(:

1. 3 sets of clothes(eg: t shirt and shorts)

2. Jacket(optional)

3. Undergarment

4. Water Bottle (for your own consumption)

5. Toiletries(soap, shampoo, comb, etc)

6. Medications (if necessary)

7. Towel for bathing

8. Converse Shoes or Sports Shoes

9. Slippers or Sandals

10.Torchlight

11. Sleeping bag/bed sheet (optional but i'm bringing!)

12. Insect Repellent (optional)

The venue is Pasir Ris Holiday Camp, 97 Elias Road, S519885.

To make it easier for us to travel there, let's meet at pasir ris interchange at 10.30am on monday 15/9/08. We will be taking Bus 403 from the interchange directly to the camp site. You could give me a call if you need help. (:

Please read your email for further details. We need all the boys to bring bottled water!

HI LOVELIESSSSS....

We will be using collared Tees for our serve trip shirt so that we can wear the shirt on formal events.Currently, we can only have one shirt due to budget contraints, so it would be a Polo Tee.

We have narrowed down to three colours and please vote for your desired colour!

(ps: we ruled out colours like yellow and red because we think that it would look really weird for polo tees. try to imagine >.>)
